The year has started very well with quite a lot of food and wine tours already. There have been quite a few tapas tours and wine tastings in Seville as well as tours to Jerez de la Frontera, to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, to the Sierra of Grazalema, to Ronda and to the Sierra of Aracena, home to some of the finest acorn-fed Iberian ham. Below are a few photos I took of some of the activities. The first is a wine-tasting that I did in El Rinconcillo,, a great venue that has been open for business since 1670!

Last week, one of the tours that  I arranged was for some cheesemakers from Britain. They were absolutely fantastic people to be with and they really enjoyed our visits to an olive mill and then to a fellow cheesemaker. The photo below is a photo of them with my friend Rosana whio has been making cheese for nearly 20 years.

Finally, another photo of a wine-tasting lunch. This was at another restaurant in Seville, Petit Comité. The food we had was excellent and I made sure that each of the 6 dishes paired well with the wines. The favourite dish was probably the octopus with potato parmentier, egg yolk and truffle oil.
